SNOW!!!

SNOW!!! We built a giant snowman, made snow angels and had a snowball fight…

Climbing and Brockhole…

By the time we reached the horses, the snow was falling heavily and after the problems we had had at Devoke water and getting the car stuck, Bob was eager to get back.

New years day walk: Devoke Water

Eventually we made it back safely, but it was definitely not the peaceful walk we were hoping for.

Like I said things don’t always go according the plan…

Skelwith Bridge and Elterwater…

Today, the carefully prepared woolies bag got left behind so the kids ended up with spare socks for gloves (not for the first time) but they did the job.

Things to do in Cumbria this half term?

Wherever you are in the country, check out your local areas “What’s on” page for activities in your area.

If in doubt or organised fun isn’t your thing, put on your boots, grab your waterproof and get outside! Go for a walk, jump in puddles and kick some leaves!

We did it! Loughrigg Fell, Children in Need and a surprise from the Vulcan…

More walkers, cyclists and dogs passed and we made it to the end of the terrace.

That was the easy bit…

We stopped at the bottom of what had been described as “the steep start”. We watched more experienced walkers struggling on the steps, some of which had a 20 inch step up, and I started wondering what we had let ourselves in for.

Brockhole and Tantrums…

Sometimes a day out doesn’t go as planned. We can prepare for the weather, or for accidents but we can’t prepare for the mood the kids are in.
