The path was a lot steeper than we thought, not that that stopped Tommy running up it (seriously, where does he get that energy from?!). We spotted (and maybe ate) loads of blackberries on the way up and had a brief encounter with a caterpillar.
This is the time of year for finding hedgehogs in a bit of trouble so keep a cardboard box handy and keep your eyes peeled for them in your garden. If you find one and it appears to be in distress follow this advice which you can also find on the BHPS website…
After our slightly disappointing first visit, I’m glad we went back, and we will definitely go back again (we’re even thinking of getting an annual pass). It has got me thinking about other places we have been that we have written off after a bad experience.
Maybe we should look at going back and giving those places a second chance?
