Micro Adventure to Consiton

After a quick, chilly trip to Sizergh Castle, we headed over to Coniston for a wander and a stone throw. It was freezing but also lovely and quiet. We parked in our usual spot and walked the short distance to the waters edge. Straight away the kids were off to look for the best stones…

A sunset not to be missed…

Sometimes you have to be a little opportunistic with your mini (or micro) adventures, and it might even mean changing plans slightly but that’s why I think they are so great, they usually fit in around you, taking half an hour or less.

Anchors away! Well, sort of…

I love the fact that both kids have been working on this, and that the festival was already into it’s second and last week, yet neither child had thought to mention it…

Apple Day and Butterflies…

It was very exciting for him and just proved that even in a quick half hour walk, you can have a wildlife encounter. I think it has inspired us to have more after dinner walks and more mini adventures.

The best laid plans…. and the Gruffalo…

This weekend had been planned out for a while. My husband had spotted a sign on his way home a few weeks a go for a Medieval Fair for the 6th Sept and we decided that it looked like fun and as it wasn’t everyday that we got to take the little ones to see…

The top 25 Greatest Simple Pleasures…

Found this while pretending to be busy on the internet, the top 25 greatest simple pleasures as found in a survey done in conjunction with Visit England. I know the clue is in the title “Simple Pleasures” but it is always nice when you see a list like this that is full of things that…

More bargains…

The pack away trousers we bought for Tom were fantastic while we were away, so much so we headed back to Mountain Warehouse today to pick some up for Charlotte as they start at 2-3 years which is fantastic! While we were there I spotted a 3-in-1 jacket for her (waterproof with zip out fleece) reduced from…
